State Fair
No, not the Great MN Get-Together, but Rodgers & Hammerstein’s STATE FAIR, the only musical that was written first for the screen and then adapted to the stage. Set against the colorful backdrop of the mid 20th century American heartland tradition, STATE FAIR travels with the Frake family as they leave behind the routine of the farm for three days of adventure at the annual State Fair. Hearts are set on winning blue ribbons, or finding romance on the midway.
Set to the magical strains of an Academy Award-winning score and other titles from the Rodgers and Hammerstein songbook, STATE FAIR is warm-hearted, witty family entertainment!
Full of fun and engaging characters of all ages and a variety of great songs for singing and dancing, Rosetown’s “State Fair” is a great warm-up for the OTHER State Fair at the end of August just a few miles away.

Crawling with slapstick humor and circus-like stage action, this award-winning comic farce will take you through a weekend in the lives of François and Mimi Laroche, the French proprietors of the château on the shores of a peaceful American lake. The owners are horrified to discover the enormity of their cockroach problem as they prepare for a big weekend of visitors!

Claiborn Heavenly has invited everyone for a big announcement – the Heavenly Winter Smorgasbord & Revue is closing due to financial problems, exacerbated by the fact that their star performer, trained dog Mister Snuffles, has passed away. All of Mr. Snuffles’ fans, past performers, and the rest of the town has showed up to say farewell. However, as they raise their empty water glasses for the final toast, an insurance agent shows up. He represents the Mr. Snuffles’ Estate, and is here to deliver Mr. Snuffles’ insurance check to the Smorgasbord, for the amount of one million dollars. The only catch: they must present the biographical musical revue of Mister Snuffles they have been working on in his honor. Claiborn and the rest of the smorgasbord staff were, of course, completely unaware of any of this, but with financial salvation in sight, they embark on a mad dash to throw together the most ridiculous performance ever to grace the Smorgasbord Stage.
Chock full of over-the-top characters, hilarious historical inaccuracy, absurd dancing, and new takes on old favorites, THE 16TH ANNUAL HEAVENLY WINTER SMORGASBORD AND REVUE will be a knee slapping good time for the whole family!
Two characters time travel from 2017 back 200 years to a mysterious Scottish village that appears for only one day every 100 years.
