Ages 8-14. July 12 - 15. LET THE WILD RUMPUS BEGIN! - This camp will explore movement, music, and acting through the timeless tale “Where the Wild Things Are.” Create cool sound effects and unique movements! Join Max on his adventure and recreate the Wild Rumpus like never before.
Ages 8-14. July 19 - 22. BACKSTAGE MYSTERY– In Backstage Mystery, kids will put their super sleuthing skills to work to create a great performance. Be careful though, you never know what kind of mystery might be right around the corner.
Ages 11-14 July 26 - 29. . GREEK WEEK– Rush the stage for a show you will not soon forget. Here is your opportunity to explore the roots of theatre and to put on a traditional Greek play in a whole new way.
Ages 8-14. August 2 - 5. WHO'S AFRAID OF THE BIG BAD BOOK – In this topsy-turvy tale of a kid who falls into his story book, kids will get a chance to fall head first into creating fun theatre. This camp has a very cool story with many different characters and some very interesting technical aspects to work on and explore.
Ages 8-14 August 9 - 12. BORN TO BE ON BROADWAY – Kids will learn what it really takes to become a Broadway star in a fun week of singing, dancing, and acting to a variety of Broadway favorites. This camp will include a few songs, some choreography, and lines that will tie it all together in a performance showcase.
Emily Griffin, Camps Director: Emily is the theatre teacher at Central Middle School in Columbia Heights where she has developed the curriculum in conjunction with a Stages Theatre Company teaching artist. She also coaches the Columbia Heights High School Speech Team.
